Amphipians and reptiles - our Swedish species and the conservation work by Claes Andrén.

In the book "Amphibians and reptiles" the distribution, appearance, environmental requirements and lifestyle of all Swedish amphibian and reptile species are presented.

To facilitate species identification, identification keys are available for the animals' various developmental stages. The book addresses important factors such as immigration history and landscape changes along with current conservation work and legislation in connection with development. Tips are also presented here on what we can all contribute to benefit amphibians and reptiles in the garden, on the farm and on the golf course. Initially, we get to accompany the author to many exotic places around the world.

The author Claes Andrén has worked as a teacher and researcher at the University of Gothenburg and was a scientific leader at Stiftelsen Nordens Ark in Bohuslän. Throughout his professional life, Claes has been involved in national and international conservation work for amphibians and reptiles. He is part of the Artdatabanken's expert committee and a member of the Nature Films and the Nature Photographers/N. Claes has also produced and participated in a large number of nature films for SVT. His latest project is to create the best possible environments for frogs and snakes on his own farm outside Ljungskile.
